Something made just for you
Every piece in the shop starts as a length of thread and a shuttle in my studio in the North Yorkshire countryside. If you’d like something that isn’t in the shop, I’d love to make it for you.
Made in your colours
I can tat a piece in your colours, in a shape or style you have in mind, or as a variation of a design you’ve seen here: a Nocturne bracelet in deep green, a Blanche necklace a little longer for your wedding dress, or a ring to match a bridesmaid’s colour scheme.
What I can make
- Earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings in tatted lace
- Your choice of thread colour (including metallic threads) and beads (glass, glass pearls and, where I can get them, garnet)
- Custom sizes and lengths: ring sizes, wrist sizes and necklace lengths
- Matching sets for weddings, bridesmaids and special occasions
- If you have a metal allergy, say so on the form and I’ll talk it through before I start.

I’ll reply within 2 working days with questions, ideas and a price.
- You approve and pay
Once you’re happy with the design, colours, size and price, I’ll email a secure payment link. For larger pieces I may ask for a 50% deposit, with the rest due before posting.
- I make your piece
Most commissions take 3–6 weeks, depending on size and how busy the studio is. I’ll send you a photo along the way.
- It’s posted to you, free
Every order goes by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Every piece is carefully wrapped and packed to arrive safely. Packaging may vary depending on the piece.

Prices
Commissions start from £45. The final price depends on the piece, its size, the beads and the time the design takes. You’ll always know the full price before you pay, and UK delivery is free(Royal Mail Tracked 48). Atelier Jing Studio is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added.
Good to know
- Handmade means small variations. Each piece is knotted by hand, so tiny differences are part of its charm.
- Need it by a date? Tell me on the form. Before busy seasons, the last order dates appear in the banner at the top of the site.

Cancellations and returns for commissions
Because a commission is made to your own specification (your colours, shape, style or size), it isn’t covered by the 14-day change-of-mind right. Ready-to-ship pieces from the shop can be returned within 14 days. Made-to-order and custom-size pieces are non-returnable. I’ll confirm this with you before you pay.
- You can cancel for a full refund before I start work. I’ll always tell you when I’m about to start.
- Once your piece is in progress, I can’t offer a change-of-mind refund. If something isn’t right, please talk to me and I’ll do my best to put it right.
- Your legal rights are not affected. If your piece arrives faulty, damaged, or not as agreed, you’re entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
