What I keep
- Orders. Name, email, delivery address, what you bought and the payment reference. Kept for 6 years. Card numbers stay with Stripe. I don’t store them.
- Basket. A cookie on your browser lists the pieces you have chosen. It is not an account.
- Messages and commissions. What you send on the contact or commission form, so I can reply.
- Cancellation requests. The details on the cancellation form, so I can act on them.
Who else sees it
- Stripe. Card payments go through Stripe.
- Resend. Order emails go through Resend. So do the contact, commission and cancellation notes.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, including Turnstile (anti-spam), Access (the private studio desk), and email routing for those two addresses. Cloudflare may process personal information outside the UK under its data processing terms, which include international transfer safeguards.
- Google Analytics is an existing account. The tag runs only after you accept cookies, and only on jingsthings.co.uk. Preview sites do not send data. Reject keeps it off. Change this on cookie settings.
- Royal Mail receives the name and address needed to deliver a parcel.
Why I use it
- Orders and delivery. I use your name, email, address and what you bought to make the piece and post it. That is the contract.
- Tax and accounting. I keep order records because the law requires it.
- Fraud prevention, and answering you. I have a legitimate interest in stopping fraudulent payments and in replying when you write.
- Analytics cookies. These run only with your consent. Reject leaves them off, and you can change that on cookie settings.
How long I keep it
I keep order records for 6 years. I keep contact messages and cancellation messages for 2 years. I keep commission enquiries for the same 2 years.
I don’t sell personal information. You can ask for a copy of what I hold, or ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@jingsthings.co.uk. Some order records have to be kept for tax and accounting. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies are described on the cookies page. You can revisit that choice from cookie settings.
