Meet Jing
I’m Jing. I make lace jewellery by hand in my studio in the North Yorkshire countryside, under the name Atelier Jing Studio.
From the first knot to your door
I design each piece, tat it, photograph it and pack it. Every piece is carefully wrapped and packed to arrive safely. Packaging may vary depending on the piece.
I first came across a piece of tatted lace by chance, and I couldn't stop looking at it. It was so delicate and beautiful that I wanted to learn how it was made. In 2025 I started teaching myself to tat from online videos, knot by knot, with a small shuttle and a lot of patience.
Each piece at Atelier Jing Studio is tatted by hand, one at a time, inspired by Victorian lace and gothic evening style. I hope to pass that same beauty on to you, and to share my work with more people who love handmade things as much as I do.

Lace made of tiny knots
Tatting is a traditional way of making lace by hand: rings and chains of small knots, worked with a shuttle and thread. It is slow, careful work, which is what gives each piece its lightness and detail.
I work in metallic and soft threads with glass beads, glass pearls and natural garnet on the Garnet Lace bracelets and the Ophelia ring. Because every knot is tied by hand, tiny differences are part of each piece’s charm.
Three moods, one pair of hands
Cordelia, Ophelia and Perdita are the Garnet Lace Collection, named after Shakespeare heroines. Ariel is a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings. See every piece.
